Lefthanders sits just south of Prevelly and is best known as a powerful surf spot on the Indian Ocean, with an open, energetic coastline typical of the Margaret River region. Water temperatures here are cool but fairly stable through the year. In summer, from December to February, the sea usually ranges between 19–22°C, which feels comfortable on warm, sunny days. Autumn brings a gentle cool-down to around 17–20°C. Winter is colder and more bracing, most often sitting at 14–16°C, while spring sees a gradual rise again to roughly 16–18°C, though strong coastal winds can make the water feel cooler than it actually is.
