Sisters Beach sits in a sheltered bay on Tasmania’s north coast, where the Bass Strait still brings cool water but conditions are often calmer than more exposed stretches of shoreline. Sea temperatures remain fairly consistent from year to year. In summer, from December to February, the water usually reaches about 15–17 °C, which feels cool but swimmable on warm days. Autumn sees temperatures easing to around 13–15 °C, while winter is noticeably cold, commonly 11–12 °C. During spring, the sea slowly warms again, generally sitting between 12–14 °C as daylight hours increase.
