The Entrance sits on the Central Coast of New South Wales, south of Newcastle, where Tuggerah Lake meets the Tasman Sea. Water temperatures here reflect both open-ocean conditions and the nearby lake system. In summer, the ocean typically warms to around 22–26 °C, making it comfortable for regular swimming. Autumn brings a gradual cool-down to roughly 20–23 °C. Winter is cooler but still swimmable for many, with sea temperatures generally between 16–20 °C, while spring sees a steady rise from about 18 °C into the low twenties as conditions become more settled.
