The Brisbane River winds its way through south-east Queensland, and its water temperature reflects the region’s warm, subtropical climate. In summer, from December to February, river temperatures are usually around 24–28°C, sometimes feeling warmer in slower reaches and backwaters during long hot spells. Swimming Conditions
Swimming in the Brisbane River is technically allowed, but it’s generally not recommended.
