Duranbah Beach, known locally as D-Bah, sits at the southern end of the Gold Coast right on the NSW–Queensland border, facing the Coral Sea. Thanks to its subtropical setting, water temperatures stay relatively warm throughout the year. In summer, the ocean usually sits around 25–27 °C, making conditions comfortable for long swims and plenty of time in the water. Autumn remains inviting, with temperatures commonly between 23–25 °C, while spring starts cooler at roughly 21–23 °C before warming quickly as the season progresses. Winter is the coolest period, but even then the sea rarely drops below about 19–21 °C, which many swimmers still find manageable, especially on sunny days.
