Kirra Beach sits on the southern end of the Gold Coast, facing the Coral Sea, and enjoys water temperatures that suit swimming for much of the year. In summer, from around December to March, the sea typically sits between 24 and 26 °C, giving the water a warm, inviting feel that’s comfortable even for longer swims. During winter, usually June to August, temperatures ease back to about 20–22 °C, which can feel a bit fresh at first but is still pleasant on sunny, calm days. Spring and autumn are often the sweet spot, with water temperatures commonly around 22–24 °C and generally settled weather along the coast.
