Surfers Paradise sits right on the Gold Coast, facing the Coral Sea, and enjoys water temperatures that make ocean swimming possible for most of the year. In summer, from around December to March, sea temperatures are usually between 24 and 26 °C, giving the water a warm, inviting feel even during longer swims. Through winter, typically June to August, temperatures cool to about 20–22 °C, which can feel fresh at first but is still comfortable on sunny days. Spring and autumn are often a sweet spot, with water temperatures commonly sitting around 22–24 °C and generally pleasant conditions on the beach.
