Caloundra sits at the southern end of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, fronting the Coral Sea, and enjoys water temperatures that suit swimming for much of the year. In summer, from around December to March, sea temperatures are typically between 24 and 26 °C, giving the water a warm, inviting feel without being overly hot. During winter, usually June to August, temperatures drop back to about 19–21 °C, which can feel cool on first entry but is still comfortable on sunny, calm days. Spring and autumn are often the most pleasant times overall, with water temperatures commonly sitting between 21–23 °C and generally settled coastal conditions.
