Kings Beach sits at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast in Caloundra, facing the Coral Sea, and enjoys water temperatures that make swimming possible most of the year. In summer, from around December to March, sea temperatures are usually between 24 and 26 °C, giving the water a warm, comfortable feel that suits longer swims. During winter, typically June to August, temperatures ease back to about 19–21 °C, which can feel fresh at first but is still pleasant on sunny days. Spring and autumn often strike a nice balance, with water temperatures commonly sitting between 21–23 °C and generally settled weather.
